{my wonderful life} mom

I woke up this morning with mixed emotions.  One part of my heart was full of gratitude to God for giving me Paige.  I am so honored to be her mom, and even when she has pushed me to my last nerve, I still love her more than anything.  The other part was so sad that I was away from all of the other moms who I love so much.

Isn’t my mom beautiful.  Can you believe she is a grandma!  She looks like she could be my sister.  I love her so much.  She is my best friend in the world and I miss her so much.  I love you Mom.  You are the best mom in the world!

When it comes to mom’s one could not ask for a better one than Beastmama. She is one of the most caring and giving people I have ever been around. She always went out of her way to make sure the four of us kids had a great time growing up. Happy Mother’s Day Mom. Love your Favorite Child Alex.  FYI – My mother’s hair only started going Gray once the child on the right of this picture started getting older.

Here is my other best friend.  I love and miss Brenda so much.  Even though we are 6 years apart, we have always been close.  And even though I give her crap about how she is a super over-protective mom, she is a wonderful one to our sweet Bridget.  Bridget was truly a gift from God and I am so glad she came to our family.

I wish I had a pictures of Tara with all of her kids.  When I go home in a few weeks I will remedy that!  I am so glad that my brother chose such a wonderful girl to marry.  She is an amazing mom.  How could you not love her awesome kids!  I love my babies!!!

Christy is truly an all-American mom.  She does everything!  I am so amazed at moms that stay at home with 4 kids.  Talk about a full time job with overtime!!!   Her and Christopher are amazing parents and their kids show it.  Paige just loves Christy and we do too!

This morning I was also thinking about Alex’s sister Jacque, who will be an amazing mom someday.  Today I am sure will be hard for her and we wanted her to know that we love her and are thinking about her.

My Aunt Venna is pretty much a second mom to me.  I am not kidding, I really do call her mom.  I love her so much and don’t know what I would do without her.

I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful baby girl.  She is such a little person.  I hope I can be as good of a mom that my mom is to me.

Sweet smienetnts…They grow up fast, enjoy every…single…day… while you can.

{my wonderful life} little miss captain underpants

Growing up in our sweet an innocent stage, we believed we could be anything in the world: a princess, a firefighter, a knight, a transformer, a bride, a mom and maybe even a super hero.  Well paige has the princess the down to a T!  She can prance and demand things and throw a fit better than any full blown princess.  All I can say is I am scared for teenage years.

But today she shed her princess dreams and set her sights on a new dream… SUPER HERO!  Was she superman, spiderman, wonder woman?  Oh no!  It was Little Miss Captain Underpants!!!  Apparently those things go on your head!  Who knew?!?!

In Little Rock for Alltel training

A few weeks ago Alex was in Little Rock, AR for his Alltel Management training.  He was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful city and he took some really incredible pictures.

The Old Statehouse.  Alex says it is the oldest remaining capital building west of the Mississippi River

The Old Mill.  Oh I want to shoot there!!!  I am going to print a big canvas of this for our house.  You might recognize this if you have seen Gone with the Wind.  Cool huh

A cool thing about the Arkansas state capital building:
When Utah was updating and remodeling the capital building in Salt Lake, they encountered a problem. The chandelier in the dome needed light fixtures replaced. They were no longer being produced. They turned to Arkansas and they had the exact chandelier and graciously gifted the light fixtures to the state of Utah.

Why I know that, I don’t know. My brain is filled with random facts that will get me nowhere in life

{my wonderful life} some crazy lightning

I have never seen lightning like we saw tonight in Roswell.  It just lit up the sky. So I hurry and grabbed my camera and tripod and shot as much as I could.  I think it looks pretty cool.  Hopefully the weather won’t be too bad here. There was even a tornado warning here tonight.
