Oregon as seen through my instagram

A few months ago we travelled to Oregon for Alex’s Grandpa’s funeral. My goodness what beautiful country it is up there. I can see why my father in law, who grew up there, still holds a special place in his heart for the Oregon Coast. I for one loved that everywhere you went there were wild blackberries growing like weeks. We must have filled 5 gallon size ziplocks. I kept asking my father in law if it was ok to be picking them and he assured me that it was. It was a blast. Here are all the pictures I took using my iPhone and instagram. I said it before…if you have an iPhone you HAVE to get instagram! Then follow me so you can see all of my pictures. So anyways…here are all of my pictures of Oregon via instagram!

Pink & Gold Fall Wedding featured on Wedding Chicks

I am so honored and thrilled to announce that Wedding Chicks, an utterly fab wedding blog, has decided to feature our beautiful and fun Pink and Gold Fall Shoot in Michigan. Last week I gave a little preview of the shoot but here is the whole shebang!

My very good friend and ultra talented wedding stylist Rhiannon of Hey Gorgeous Events created the most beautiful table for the shoot. I loved the ghost pumpkins with gold painted stems.

In lieu of a cake Rhi decided to do Pumpkin Spice Donuts from Robinette’s Apple Haus. OMG. They were amazing. I love the idea of using something unique instead of a traditional cake.

The caramel pops were made by the ever wonderful Nicole Ebbitt from The Caramel Jar. Let’s just say they were delish!

All of the beautiful paper products were created by Michelle Ellen Lee of Papertalk Press. I wish you all could have seen this paper in person. They were so shimmery and beautiful. Amazing job Michelle!

These beauties were provided by Luichiny Shoes. I adore the hearts on the bottom.

The flowers were created by Rhiannon as well. I am telling you, she is an uber talented girl…I totally love her

Is that bouquet not the most amazing thing ever! LOVE!

I am so grateful to our amazing couple who braved the extreme Michigan wind. It was so freezing!

The amazing venue is a true gem of Northern Michigan. French Valley Vineyards had not only a beautifully rustic barn, but also and amazing orchard and a charming vineyard. Talk about a photographers dream.

I am so truly grateful to have had the opportunity to photograph this lovely shoot. A big thank you to my dear friend Rhi for always answering my calls and texts, no matter what the time. Thanks for doing what you do so beautiful. It makes my job so easy. And lastly thank you for being one of my best friends. Love you!!!

OMG LOVE! Well done, everything looks perfect and the photos are kick-ass!

the joy of being a kid

I have spent all day in front of the computer editing, building websites, ordering prints and the dreaded paying of the bills. I had completely had it and I didn’t even want to think about blogging today. Then while editing my brother in laws family pictures I came across a gem that brought a smile to my face. Not just because I love the 3 munchkins in this photo, but because it shows them being kids. And I love it. I will be blogging the rest of this pictures from this session in a few days, but for now here is a lovely preview. (and yes Paige HAD to jump in on this!)

Paige Loves Michigan

We had such a wonderful in Michigan and I wanted to share just a few of the pictures I took of Paige on our adventures. She loved it there (as you can see) and we can’t wait to go back!

Wow. Fall in Michigan was amazing. I haven’t seen such pretty colors since I lived in New York. Amazing. Paige picked up leaves every where we went! The thing I love the most about the picture on the right is the hole in her tights!

This pictures of her and Alex is perhaps my most favorite shot of them ever.

Alex snapped a wonderful shot of me and Paigey. Love the flare!

Lake Michigan was beautiful, even if it was windy and freezing!

I may have brought a bag of acorns back from Windmill Island in Holland, Michigan. Maybe.

As we were walking around Holland we stumbled across the cutest little alley way. Paige and I had to stop for a quick photo session! So stylish.

Paige loved Windmill Island. All of the shops were closed which was a bummer, but we had the whole place to our self!

My heart melts.

We spent one of our days in Grand Rapids visiting my dear friend Rhiannon and she suggested we visit Robinette’s Apple Haus. It was such an amazing place. Let’s just say I had a warm pumpkin spice donut and it was the best thing I have ever tasted in my life. Especially if you wash down with fresh pressed apple cider. Amazing.

So there is our trip! Thank for coming on vacation with us!

So beautiful! I have a bit of an obsession with acorns lately. They’re just the most quaint and cheerful thing, don’t you think?

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful girl! Looks like you guys had a great time!

P.S. I’m so excited to see more of your blog posts! I need to work on that, but not sure I’m capable of 5 a week…way to go!

Eeeek! Love these photos. And am even more glad that you came to Michigan. You are amazing and I heart you! xoxo
